EverQuest turns 23 years old and throws a bash to match

It’s a very happy birthday to EverQuest, which marked its 23rd birthday this week following its release back in March 1999. Let’s just absorb the fact that this MMO came out before Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and then move on with our lives.

Actually, maybe we shouldn’t move on considering that Daybreak is bringing back an expanded anniversary event, giving out a surprise gift to subscribers, and hosting sweepstakes with several fun prizes.

“It’s a great time to explore Norrath like never before and celebrate our birthday! Speak with the Mechanical Fortune Teller in Plane of Knowledge for details on these past and current celebrations,” the studio said.

And one sign that EverQuest isn’t going anywhere is the fact that Daybreak is looking to fill several positions on the team, including artists, a software engineer, and a technical writer.
