“Tout le monde veut voler mon pamplemousse.”
Literal translation: Everyone wants to steal my grapefruit.
What it means: Your grapefruit is full of drugs.

“Pour passer un bon moment, appelez Michael et dites-lui que vous êtes son père biologique perdu depuis longtemps.”
Literal translation: For a good time, call Michael and tell him you are his long-lost birth father.
What it means: Michael’s parents did not love him.

“Le bup.”
Literal translation: The bup.
What it means: le bup

“Madame, je suis peut-être ivre, mais Victor Hugo s’est un jour tellement énervé qu’il a hurlé sur un cochon d’Inde pendant quarante-cinq minutes.”
Literal translation: I’ve been drinking dish cleaner.
What it means: French people are only legally required to know of three authors: Victor Hugo, Honoré de Balzac, and J. K. Rowling, although in French she is known as “Cette dame qui a écrit ces stupides livres de sorciers et qui déteste les transgenres sans raison et qui est affreuse.”

“Crier à cheval, c’est tellement mille neuf cent quatre-vingt-quatorze.”
Literal translation: 馬に乗って叫ぶのはとても一九九四です。
What it means: USA! USA! USA! USA! Le bup.

Tu joues à quoi ce week-end?
Literal translation: Would you like to see me tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue?
What it means: I don’t know, I forgot most of my French lessons.

Bonus question: How do you feel about April Fools’ Day?

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I’m gonna be in City of Heroes this weekend, and probably Guild Wars 2. Not sure why I fell into this City of Heroes blackhole, but I’m there now.

Honestly, AFD is not my favorite; I feel like the world has so many problems with lies masquerading as news that most of what people do is not that funny. But I like what we did this year. I tend to like the more wholesome things and the events that hit that sweet spot of poking fun at themselves while offering novel content for players.

Carlo Lacsina (@UltraMudkipEX, YouTube, Twitch): I’m probably going to just play some Final Fantasy VI and Black Desert’s global test server. I want to spend a little more time testing out Drakania for an upcoming article about her. But other then that, I’ll be gearing up for a Hawaii trip!

April Fools’ Day has always been pretty cool. My favorite thing with April Fools’ Day are the joke patch day notes, and that’s something I look forward to.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): I’m almost done with Kirby and the Forgotten Land and have picked up Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands on a whim. Not much planned in MMO land, honestly.

I hate April Fools’ Day.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Got another game to review and I’m not done playing Nightmare Reaper, honestly. I reviewed it but I still love it. Also a bit of poking at Final Fantasy XIV, probably.

I like April Fools’ Day a lot, but I don’t like how a lot of people think “telling a lie and then laughing at you” is a joke. It should be pretty obvious to regular readers that I have a pretty clear idea of what sort of weird jokes should be told. Something playful, something silly, something mildly absurd. I have come up with a lot of the jokes for this site over the years.

Sam Kash (@thesamkash): I’ll be playing some Super Adventure Box in Guild Wars 2. I just love my GW2 festivals! I might log into Mortal Online 2 again but that’s only if I get done with GW2 and I’m bored. Last weekend I played a few hours of Record of Lodoss War which is kind of like a Sega Genesis or maybe arcade style Metroidvania. I never played Sega games so there’s no nostalgia but the game play is good enough and it looks like it’ll be a quick play through so it’s fun.

Bonus: I’m a fan. I never pull pranks but I like to see what others throw together.

Patron Pierre: After a little more than one month playing Lost Ark regularly, what I feared has arrived: I’m getting bored and can’t find the motivation to play. So this weekend, no Lost Ark for me.

On a whim, I decided recently to go back to Final Fantasy XIII (13). What a pleasant game. I loved it when it launched, even if it was very divisive among the FF aficionados (I’m one of them) as too many gameplay features had changed since XII. Two things to know if you want to really enjoy FFXIII: First, don’t use autobattle, choose your combat actions manually; second, Lightning is badass – I like her. One suggestion: Try to play and obtain five stars on each and every fight, even the smallest ones. It’s a challenge, but I like to play with this additional objective.

Finally, I also decided to play Until Dawn, in anticipation for The Quarry, next Supermassive Games’ game coming end of June. I find these horror-teen-movie games quite fun to play.

Bonus question: I must admit I never find good ideas for April Fools’ Day jokes, so I never make any, but I like to see what other people thought of. I know at work, the person responsible for our working site makes a new one every year. I work in the aerospace industry, and this year, as we are lacking office spaces for new people, she announced that old recycled planes will be bought and used as offices. It was not really good, but A for effort.
