The Daily Grind: How do you handle excessive MMO downtime?

OK, while it’s certainly not the worst setback you’ll ever face in your life, it’s never a joy to be eager to log into your MMO… and it’s offline for maintenance. “Hey, it’s just an hour!” you think while watching the clock and chewing your fingernails.

But then, the studio announces that downtime is going to be a bit longer than anticipated. A lot longer. “We have no estimate for service restoration,” the company helpfully supplies. And suddenly, you’re in the midst of a day — or longer! — of unexpected downtime.

How do you handle excessive MMO downtime when (if?) it happens? Do you go slowly insane? Do you prowl the forums, log into a secondary MMO, or go do something productive in your life?
