Overwatch 2 fans are already generally familiar with the new support hero Kiriko from a mechanical standpoint, but what about her origin? How does someone become a fox spirit-summoning ninja? That’s elaborated upon in two new videos shared by Blizzard about her.
The first video lets lead concept artist Qiu Fang and associate narrative designer Kyungseo Min brief players on Kiriko’s backstory, playstyle, and overall design from concept to final. The second video provides a more complete origin story of the character, chronicling her family upbringing, the fall of the Shimada clan, and her arrival to the Yokai to protect Kanezaka from the Hashimoto crime family.
