World of Warcraft eases up on Dragonflight’s reputation grind

With a more involved reputation system coming to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight this fall, it’s certainly important for Blizzard to make both the grind and the payoff feel rewarding. The studio announced that it was tuning its reputation and renown systems in the Dragonflight beta to favor players more as they quest through the Dragon Isles.

Some of the changes that Blizzard are making in the beta include increasing the frequency of certain world quests, lowering renown level requirements, improving level-up quest payouts, and granting more reputation gains to the weekly wrapper quest.

“As we have added different sources of reputation, it became harder to reward amounts that felt meaningful. As a result, we made a variety of changes to reputation rewards alongside increases to the reputation needed per renown rank from 1000 to 2500,” Blizz said.

Meanwhile, some testers are already investigating the first season of Dragonflight by picking apart the new Thundering affix. This hazard creates occasional electrical storms that “can damage and stun allies” as it passes over groups.
