Here’s something to make us MMORPG veterans feel incredibly old today: EverQuest is gearing up to release its 29th expansion come December. Old feelings aside, it’s welcome news to Norrath adventurers looking to embark on the next chapter of this seasoned MMO’s journey.

Daybreak activated the pre-order page for Night of Shadows, with the standard edition costing $35, the collector’s edition $70, the premium edition $140, and the family and friends edition $250. The beta for the expansion started today.

Night of Shadows will add seven new zones to the game as well as raids, missions, AAs, spells, and collections. There will also be a spiffy Tradeskill Component Depot included for players to store stacks of materials between their characters.

“With a sudden rumble and roar, Norrath and Luclin are on the verge of absolute, explosive chaos,” Daybreak wrote. “Everything is putting the entire world at risk, and the call for heroes and heroines to step up is imminent.”
