The Daily Grind: How do you handle weekly capped content in MMOs?

I grew up on a farm.

Over the years, I have noticed that there are three basic approaches to a situation wherein there is a weekly cap for certain content in an MMO. The first approach is to treat the weekly cap as a thing to take care of as swiftly as possible, banging out stuff as soon as the weekly reset happens to avoid missing out. The second is to treat this like a school project, finishing up at the last possible minute and largely ignoring it up to that point. Third, of course, is to pace out your progress and make incremental reasonable progress each day.

I’ve done all three over time, although these days I tend toward the last one most often when given weekly caps to things. But I’m curious about what our readers do. How do you handle weekly capped content in MMOs? Especially when it’s stuff that isn’t weekly in the sense of “you can acquire 100 Content Nuts this week” but “you can earn one Content Voucher each week?”

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
