The Daily Grind: Do you care about world firsts in MMOs?

Sure, let's rip this off.

I don’t care much about world firsts in MMOs, but I’ve certainly been guilded with people who cared a lot, even before games started recognizing them and handing out badges for them. The bragging rights on some servers was worth it for them.

I’ve had a couple of world firsts in MMOs before, but I think they were mostly because of apathy on the part of other players rather than some personal drive. For some reason, when a game wants me to rush to something, my contrary side kicks in, and I just want to do the exact opposite, even if I could conceivably be the winner.

Do you care about world firsts in MMOs? Do you ever try to accomplish them?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
