Strike a pose and all that.

Earlier this week, we reported that the newly introduced Wayfinder was already in the middle of its first wave of testing with another one en route. In fact, according to last night’s announcement, that second PC test will begin next week, with the first PlayStation test alongside it. Invitations should begin rolling out on the 17th and 19th, respectively.

Unfortunately, with an NDA still in place, we’re unlikely to hear much about the state of the game. Airship Syndicate says that the goal for the PlayStation test is largely data-gathering on the North American playerbase. You can sign up on the official site right now.

“The reception Wayfinder has received has been overwhelmingly positive, motivating the team to make the best game possible,” the studio said on Discord. “It’s crazy to see all of the work that started nearly four years ago finally in your hands, and crazier still to think that this is only the beginning. Wayfinder is coming fast, and we cannot wait to have you experience it for yourselves, sharing experiences with your friends and adventuring with new ones.”

Airship introduced Wayfinder as a free-to-play “character-based online action RPG” at this past December’s Game Awards. It’s not technically an MMORPG as combat zones will be relatively small – in the vein of Classic Guild Wars – but Airship Syndicate told us that the game is heavily inspired by MMOs and includes what the studio considers the three core MMO attributes: community, an evolving world, and persistence.
