The Daily Grind: Why (and how) do you use your MMO house?

This is a serious question. I am well aware that lots of MMOs provide lots of reasons and methods to own housing, and I am likewise aware that lots of MMO players have lots of different reasons to want to do that. What I’m asking is what motivates you, personally, to actually use a house. When you have a house in an MMO, what are you most likely to use it for?

For me, it depends a bit on the game. Sometimes it’s to store all my stuff or have an easy place to swap it between alts. Sometimes it’s to run a shop in a game that offers vendors. Sometimes it’s to maintain a central home for my guild. And sometimes it’s because it’s the best place to farm or craft.

And sometimes it’s just because I can and I want a place that looks pretty and is all mine.

Why and how do you use your MMO house?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
