The Daily Grind: Which MMOs make it too easy to fail something long before you’re done?

So here's your problem.

Nobody likes queueing up for an instanced PvP match to lose. But what sucks way worse is when you queue up and get into the match, and you can tell that you are going to lose immediately… and yet you still have to play out the whole thing. If there’s one thing worse than losing, it’s knowing that it’s going to happen but still waiting for it to actually finish. That’s just never fun, and it happens distressingly often in some MMOs.

Generally, most games in general and MMOs in specific try to ensure that players are not going to be stuck waiting to finish failing something when the conclusion is already foregone. But sometimes you start a craft you know right away that you are actually going to fail, or a PvP match that’s horribly one-sided. So which MMOs make it too easy to fail something long before you’re done? And is there anything that those MMOs in particular could do to make it better?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
