The Daily Grind: Which MMO’s lore makes your eyes glaze over?

Earlier this week, Blizzard posted up a brief in-universe timeline of the Diablo IP’s storyline, and in spite of my having played these games, I realized the dates and plotpoints mean nothing to me. Blizzard could’ve made all of that up as a joke and I would not know. Unlike MOP’s Tyler, who knows the lore so well he can call it out when it goes awry between games, I can’t remember any of it. I love action RPGs because they get me into a soothing mental zone, exploring a map with some click click boom boom loot loot. The lore isn’t even the set dressing, let alone the show.

It isn’t that I never like lore or narrative in games; the traditional MMO I’ve been playing most lately is all about the lore! I just don’t care about it in OARPGs at all. (Ironically, though, I know the Diablo music by heart.)

Which MMO’s lore makes your eyes glaze over?
