Nightingale has drifted a bit out of the gaming consciousness since its early access launch earlier this year, but Tencent’s Inflexion apparently means to change that, as it’s thrown down quite a gauntlet with this afternoon’s reveal of Nightingale: Realms Rebuilt, which is basically the 0.4 and 0.5 patches rolled into one.
“This is our largest and most significant update since we launched into Early Access, and we wanted to give it a title that made it clear that we’ve been up to important stuff – tinkering, improving and rebuilding large parts of the Nightingale experience (we’re also increasing build limits, so it doubles as a bit of on-the-nose wordplay),” Inflexion says. “Our goal for the update was to take a holistic look at what’s working and what’s not in the game, making valuable changes and introducing new features that add more meaning and substance to our Faewilds.”
Specifically, those features include:
- a revamp of the recipe unlock progression path, with a more straightforward “progression” tab in the guidebook that makes the system easier for players to follow;
- a bigger emphasis on doing POIs, quests, and challenges for essence instead of grinding;
- the removal of augmentation requirements for crafting specific items;
- a big boost to the number of items and building pieces you can put into structures, as well as a realm-wide weight limit;
- the regency tileset (looks gorgeous too);
- and the addition of bows, arrows, pistols, rifles, and new spells.
The downside is that the patch will require a realm reset, meaning wiped toons and a full restart for everyone. Players will be able to save their respite realms for offline mode, but “this parked save will not receive any future content updates.” Realms Rebuilt is on deck for later this summer.
