With today marking the official 10th anniversary of the first Destiny – and the future of Destiny 2 still feeling pretty wobbly thanks to bad executive moves – Bungie has taken a moment to both celebrate the FPS’s milestone and assure players that there’s plenty more to come for the game.

Leading the studio’s latest announcement is a two-year content release plan called Codename: Frontiers, which will bring two “medium-sized expansions” codenamed Apollo and Behemoth respectively along with four major free content updates, all of which are scheduled to land between summer 2025 and spring 2026.

This content map is promising “a non-linear story, more systemic innovation, and significant improvements to core game activities and rewards” according to Bungie, starting with Apollo’s non-linear character-driven adventure next summer. The shared roadmap below also lists new events, a new meta for the sandbox, and more shinies for seasonal reward passes like cosmetics, armor ornaments, and gear upgrade resources.

Dev blogs that take closer looks at this plan will be releasing over the coming months, though three discussing activity updates, reward updates, and an incoming activity portal are live now.

Of course before then, D2 is looking to commemorate a decade of the shooter IP with various events like in-person art shows at select cities, armor pieces styled after the game’s original concept art that can be found starting today within the Lost City in the Pale Heart, and a commemorative title for those who complete specific objectives.
