I’ve only just unlocked my new player house in Guild Wars 2’s Janthir Wilds and haven’t dug my claws into the feature, but for the thriving GW2 community, the homestead showcase party has already begun. In fact, as I type this, the top post on the game’s subreddit is begging for a homesteads-related tag so gamers can sort threads that show off people’s newly decorated homes, and in fact, there are at least two whole dedicated subreddits just for Guild Wars 2’s homesteading now.
And lest you think it’s all just cozy highland bears decor as I once did, be prepared for some of the absolutely insane builds we’re now getting. For reference, this is the basic bear house. It’s fine. It’s cute.
But players are finding tricks to go way beyond just moving a few chairs around. For example, Redditor Razoran_ literally built Barad-dûr from The Lord of the Rings, complete with the movie-inspired Eye of Sauron.
Terrrll was also inspired by Lord of the Rings, with a rotated mossy pillar subbing in for the grass covering on a hobbit hole.
