All right folks, if you’ve been waiting for Lineage 3 aka Lineage Eternal aka Project TL for the last decade, your moment is finally here as Throne and Liberty officially launches today at 1 p.m. EDT, just as this post hits the front page of MassivelyOP.

As readers will know, the game already launched in South Korea at the end of 2023; there, it has been incubating as NCsoft continued tweaking it ahead of this global launch. And it’s already gone well here so far, as it’s been in a paid headstart phase for the last five days. While we don’t know how many people bought it, and there have certainly been issues and bugs, the PC servers have been busy, with a headstart peak of just under 57K people Sunday and almost 6000 reviews (averaging to “mixed” thus far) – and that’s just on Steam. The crush of players has already prompted NCsoft and western publisher Amazon to increase server capacity and add more servers.

And we’re expecting that to continue into this weekend, as today’s launch is free-to-play, meaning no barrier to entry at all. If you’re just now realizing you don’t want to miss the hype/chaos train of the first day of a big MMO, you can jump right in on Steam, PS5, and Xbox X|S. Have fun, MMO folks!

“THRONE AND LIBERTY is an MMORPG that combines narrative-rich adventure and guild-focused gameplay within the vast, persistent world of Solisium.
