Publisher Masangsoft opens Steam pages for several old and previously shuttered MMOs

The name Masangsoft might sound vaguely familiar to our regular readers, but it also has been some time since it blipped on our radar. Most might remember it as the company that wanted to reboot the MMO RaiderZ – an effort that reportedly ended last year without much fanfare – and its also the steward of a few other games such as DK Online and Asda Story, known around here as Asda Global.

It looks as if Masangsoft is quadrupling down on attempts at bringing back old and sunsetted MMO games. Eagle-eyed Redditors noticed a Steam page listing for the racing MMO Skidrush: Drift City, but as it turns out, the publisher has also opened pages for three other oldies: the style-focused shooter GunZ: The Duel, fishing MMO Fishing Hero, and what appears to be the relaunch of the classic Asda Story.

These look to be recent additions to the storefront according to update history logs tracked on SteamDB, with each game getting new assets just last week. Additionally, most of the games have their own unique website heralding their arrival to Steam save for Skidrush.

The question of why these games in specific are being revitalized almost immediately comes to mind, as well as questions about when these will return – or even whether Masangsoft will actually follow through. In any event, it’s a curious new development, particularly for MMO fans of a certain vintage.
