One of the nice things about MMOs in general is that they are games that err on the side of long timetables and long projects. You figure out things you want to accomplish in these games, and you do so over the course of weeks and months, sometimes even years. That’s part of the fun. But sometimes you start trying to accomplish a specific goal in an MMO and find halfway through that you just… don’t care any more. It’s not fun, you don’t want it, or maybe you don’t need it. You stop trying. You give up.

This is not necessarily a reason for shame. Sometimes these projects just aren’t worth it! Sometimes the reasons you had for originally taking on the objectives have faded away. Sometimes you just don’t feel like bothering any more. Whatever the reason, what are the MMO projects you’ve given up on? Did they get too hard to accomplish, did other people move on, or did you just decide it wasn’t fun any more?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
