Cozy multiplayer life sim Palia is arguably getting more cozy and more multiplayer with its Holiday Homestead patch, which adds a couple of wintertime activities to enjoy within the open beta.
Headlining the patch is the ability to cheerfully fling packed spheres of snow at people, as snowball fights can now break out in the game, along with the continued offerings in the Winterlights seasonal shop. There’s also several season-appropriate items in the cash shop; we have the unfortunate duty to confirm that the owlbear in a top hat is (unsurprisingly) one of those items.
The colder weather is also board game season (according to Singularity Six), so the patch lets players take advantage with two new in-game board games that can be purchased: a checkered game board that appears to offer chess and the Hunters & Chaapas game board that lets players come together for some Chutes & Ladders-styled fun. On the subject of decor, players can now craft new curtains for their windows provided they progress the Room to Grow achievement and brings new dyeing options for several existing furnishings.
The patch has otherwise made certain glider outfits a toggle option, applied updates to the crafter UI that accommodate recent decor limit changes, added new popups that show how much gathering XP is being earned while harvesting nodes, and fixed several bugs.
