Maybe it’s completely silly to be this excited over what amounts to a mobile life sim in which you live in a van down by the river (and probably eat cheese), but Outbound genuinely has some of us here at Massively OP quite excited. Ever since fully funding its Kickstarter campaign back in September, we’ve been waiting to hear of this project’s next steps.
The good news is that Outbound’s development is moving along a good clip. “Development is on track, we expect the alpha to be publicly available in the first half of 2025,” Square Glade Games said, mentioning that it is “slightly optimistic” to include multiplayer with this test. The studio showed off progress fleshing out one part of the world map and talked about other features such as a reworked UI and van dashboard bobbleheads.
“We’ve made significant progress on the world of Outbound, bringing it to life with places to explore and secrets to find,” the studio posted. “As you can see, we’re creating lots of locations to explore and to chill out and set up a campsite.”
As a dash of unfortunate news, Square Glade noted that another party had ripped off its art and game description to sell its “garbage.” So be aware in case you wanted to wishlist this game that you’re wishlisting the right game.
