The Daily Grind: Do MMO streamers help or hurt the genre?

Love it or hate it, the prominence of video gaming streamers is an undeniable facet of this industry. The most popular of these (we favor MOP’s Chris and MJ, obviously) can wield tremendous influence and deploy legions of fans to particular titles. As a result, studios bend over backwards to woo these streamers and garner millions of eyeballs on their products.

Seeing as how streamers are just as involved with MMOs as other games, I wanted to get your thoughts on how helpful or hurtful they may be. Yes, they can boost interest in a game and widen viewers’ perspectives, but they can also cause chaos on servers and encourage studios to cater to their needs over the average player.
