FFA PvP is at the heart of New World Season of Conquerors, live today

The long new content wait for New World players since the launch of Aeternum is finally over today with the release of Season of Conquerors, the game’s seventh formal season.

As Amazon has been previewing since before the new year, the update includes the new fresh start seasonal worlds, but don’t be expecting a fluffy PvE experience; the season servers are free-for-all PvP from level 15, with speedier leveling and crafting and high-end gear that drops for players as they murder each other. Fun! And yes, you can port these characters to the regular servers at the completion of the season.

The update further includes the new gear loadout setup for mutated expeditions, improved matchmaking for M3 expeditions, new artifacts and rewards, multiple returning events (Siege of Sulfur, Legacy of Crassus, and Rabbit’s Revenge), and a massive list of combat, UI, weapon, and dungeon fixes. There’s a new OPR map on deck too:

“Get a sneak peek at the brand new Outpost Rush map ‘Coral Divide’ during a special preview weekend. A central trench divides the battlefield and houses NPCs. Build bridges to create new pathways, opening up strategic opportunities for your team.”

Servers went down at 8 a.m. EST for the update this morning and were expected back up at 10 a.m, though Amazon begged for another 30 minutes, meaning it should be back up when this post goes live.

Update
Another delay was apparently in order, but now we have the list of new season servers too. ETA is now 11 a.m. EST.

Update
Delays have continued; new ETA is 1 p.m. EST.

Updates
Issues continue, apparently.
