I do not care for spiders. They seriously unsettle me, and so the fact that so many MMOs I like are awash in giant spiders is not exactly a fun time for me. It’s kind of inevitable when giant spiders are a consistent feature in both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings (and the spider sequence in the former is awesome), but I will never be having a good time when I am fighting spiders.
But spiders aren’t the only upsetting thing in video games. I had a friend who was very sensitive to smells and he found fighting the Vahzilok in City of Heroes upsetting because they’ve got to just reek. Some people find the undead enemies in various games really disturbing. Heck, maybe for whatever reason there is a Star Trek Online faction that really gets the hair on the back of your neck standing up. We’re not judging you today; we just want to know if there are enemies in your favorite MMO that you find unsettling.
