Last year we reported on an upcoming solarpunk survival game called Farm Folks, noting that it was originally Kickstarted in 2018 by studio Overgrown, which failed to actually finish it. A new company, Crytivo, bought it out to save it and promised to fulfill the original Kickstarter plan while also considering a fresh Kickstarter.
Since then, studio Crytivo announced that it is changing both the name and the game’s overall identity under the title of Autonomica. “Say goodbye to the humble beginnings of simple farm simulation and welcome to Cowsmopolitan — a colorful, funny, and distinctly cow-themed universe of futuristic farming, crafting, automation, and customization wrapped in a delightful ’80s-retro aesthetic,” said the team.
And that second Kickstarter is en route too, with a launch date of April 15th.
