DC Universe Online releases a new 64-bit client that promises ‘improved performance and stability’

Obviously more bits is better in PC MMORPGs, right? Let’s hope so because Daybreak Games’ Dimensional Ink has proudly announced that a new 64-bit client for DC Universe Online. And, like, they are super jazzed about it, you guys.

“We’ve officially launched our brand-new 64-bit client! Prepare for improved performance and stability, allowing for longer play sessions without interruption, because your adventures deserve peak performance.”

Insert your “this is what peak performance looks like” memes here.

As one might expect, the release – and the subsequent excitable reveal – led to some confusion among fans of the MMO who seemingly didn’t know this was coming, but a couple of players did provide a little bit of context: One reply notes that the player was seeing unique maps load in faster, which could mean that new bounty maps will be on the horizon, and another reply notes that the new client could mean higher resolution textures for PC players. So overall this does indeed seem to be a good tech upgrade for the game. Just maybe reel back on the espresso next time, PR guys?
