It’s patch day for Path of Exile 2 fans as the early access multiplayer OARPG is officially launching Dawn of the Hunt today – a release so powerful it actually caused another game to change its own launch plans.
As MOP’s MJ outlined back in March, Dawn of the Hunt adds the Huntress and her Ritualist and Amazon ascension paths, seven new maps, an insane number of new support gems and uniques, the new Rogue Exiles mechanic that GGG calls a PvP-like experience, new endgame content, a progression-smoothing pass, and new paths for the Witch, Warrior, and Mercenary. And don’t forget all the nerfs! Oh yeah, and today will kick off the Dawn of the Hunt League too.
“Start fresh in a new economy with the Dawn of the Hunt league. All of your old characters from the Early Access launch are still present but a free passive tree refund has been granted due to the changes. We would highly encourage you to join the new leagues to fully take in the changes we’ve made with the 0.2.0 update. There are Standard, Hardcore and Solo Self-Found variations of the Dawn of the Hunt league available. They have the same core mechanics and items as the existing Early Access leagues.”
Patch notes are already live on the official site, which will give you something to read while you pre-download. PC predownloading, in fact, begins at 1 p.m. EDT today, then the servers are back up at 3 p.m. EDT.
