Last June we first caught wind of Havenhold, a self-described “multiplayer conquest adventure” MMO (aka an MMOACT) that promised a blending of PvE co-op, PvP conquest, and a whole lot of martial arts action along the way. The game held several tests along its development, the most recent of which being a Chinese playtest last September.
If you missed out on those prior tests, then dust off a space on your calendar because a closed beta test is headed to Steam starting on Thursday, April 17th. Interested players simply have to navigate to the Steam page and click on the “request access” button to be considered.
As for the length of the test, that isn’t detailed specifically, but we can pretty safely assume it will be for 14 days at least, owing to the fact that the MMO’s gameplay loop is fully centered around a consistently resetting 14-day cycle where players must “wield primordial powers, craft, trade, battle dark monsters and compete with other players in intense battles” that culminate into all-out PvP war in order to earn the favor of the mystical Kunlun Mountain.
Victory or defeat conditions aren’t specifically explained here, but a press release does state that earned items carry over into successive playthroughs, while an accompanying video discusses how finding mystical scrolls and crafting gear can make each cycle unique. That video awaits below.
