In-universe, First Contact Day is a big deal in Star Trek Online; it marks the day that Vulcans and Humans first met one another, the start of humanity’s steps onto the grander intergalactic stage. In-game, it’s a chance for another big event in the game that features players fighting against Synths rebelling on Mars, a historical excursion back to 21st-century Earth to stop the Borg from interfering in the actual first contact, and a chance to launch model rockets in honor of the Phoenix that first jumped to warp speed.
Players can earn a shuttle pet, Dilithium, and numerous comm badge insignias as a reward for taking part in the festivities, as well as an endless-duration holo-emitter to disguise your ship as the Phoenix itself. There’s also a double experience event that is starting up and will run through April 12th. So if you want to celebrate that time humanity ran into a bunch of logical space elves in-universe, check out the event and get ready to level up faster.
