The Daily Grind: What makes you furious in MMOs?

Last week, Lord of the Rings Online finally opened up its housing system on the new 64-bit servers, and after two days of listening to people talk about how nice and polite and orderly it was for earlier phases, I thought for sure it would be the same for my preferred zone of Lyndelby, which opened Wednesday.

But nope. Some trolls decided it would be hilarious to bring new Beornings to crowd the broker. Just huge giant bear butts adding to the lag and chaos, very clearly on purpose, based on the chatter. Other people were firing off especially laggy non-target AOE spells to make it worse.

I made it through and got my house, but I have to say they made me furious. I was already annoyed and disappointed to see the levels of trash humans that fill the Glamdring chat every night, but this just showed a level of garbage behavior I’ve never seen in LOTRO in nearly 18 years – not once. I’d expect it from World of Warcraft, but not here.
