One of Lord of the Rings Online’s younger festivals is about to get a major upgrade in 2025. The Midsummer Festival, which came following Update 27, previously confined players to a modified version of Minas Tirith. However, SSG is taking the festivities out of the city and down south for this year’s summer event.
On the most recent We Have a Cave Troll podcast, the team discussed how it wanted to create a Winter-home or Wistmead-like region specifically for this holiday and turned to the newly opened Shield Isles as the perfect place to build it. While they didn’t go into many specifics, it does sound as though all players are about to take a tropical vacation when the festival arrives in June.
