The new season of Overwatch 2 content is slowly building on the horizon, which means that Blizzard is eager to get people excited for what’s to come in both a sizzle reel sense and an informational sense.
We’ll start with the information portion first, which is couched within the game’s latest dev blog that shares some general updates coming with Season 16. This preview showcases a variety of perk changes, including replacement perks for Sombra and Mercy that seek to provide more transformative gameplay options, a new major perk for Juno that reduces her torpedo cooldown, and some nerfs to existing perks like Tracer’s triple blink.
The post also confirms the arrival of Freja to the game when Season 16 goes live with some feature tweaks to match; it further confirms that 6v6 open queue will continue to run in quick play and competitive play through the length of the next season.
Another portion of the new season (and the part of the story where we get to that sizzle) is the introduction of Stadium mode, which represents the first all-new game mode added to the shooter in a very long time. Blizzard has announced the announcement that will come in the form of a gameplay trailer set to premiere on Monday, April 14th.
