Pixel sandbox Necesse counts 250K new players last month alone, adds deep caves with Update 0.32

Don’t sleep too long on Necesse, as this quirky sandbox MMO is truly picking up steam in 2025. In fact, indie developer Fair Games announced that the title saw over a quarter-million players come into the game in March alone.

It’s a good time to check Necesse out, starting with a 30% off sale on Steam that puts it for under 10 bucks until April 24th. On top of that, Update 0.32: The Forgotten Depths apparently was remembered because this came out on Thursday with a deep cave biome, a huge rework to the economy (including little traders you can hire to sell your stuff), more environmental hazards, and NPCs who will rightly get angry if you torch their village to the ground.
