Multiplayer extraction shooter ARC Raiders schedules a multi-platform technical test for April 30

Back in 2019, Nexon bought out Patrick Söderlund’s Embark Studios, which then started work on a then free-to-play PvP shooter known as ARC Raiders. In 2023, it shifted to a PvPvE survival extraction game instead, followed by shifting to a $40 price tag a year later. Now in 2025, the game is preparing for what it’s calling its biggest test yet, or Tech Test 2, to be more specific.

The size of the test references the fact that it will be for multiple platforms: PC via Steam and Epic Games Store as well as on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for the first time. Players who want to sign up can do so either by requesting access on the Steam page or by signing up on the site for every other platform.

The test itself will run for five days, between April 30th and May 4th, and brings a wider array of enemies, more gear, the promise of deeper crafting and progression systems, and a first look at the battle pass that will be on offer, as well as the chance to see how the game works at a larger scale according to the studio. So basically it sounds like there will be plenty of players added to the pool.
