Last December we were all introduced to SpaceCraft, a sci-fi sandbox about building, exploration, and eventually growing an interstellar trading empire with – or against – other players. Since that initial announcement, developer Shiro Games has been putting out informational peeks as the game heads toward its planned 2025 early access release.
We’ll begin with an FAQ that provides a bit more insight into the game: Shiro seems to be avoiding calling SpaceCraft an MMO, but it does point out that there are places that players will be able to gather and that its servers can house thousands of players.
The FAQ also points out a PvE and cooperative focus but with econ PvP available, shares extremely vague plans for multiple updates per year that are “influenced by players” but aren’t necessarily weekly or monthly, and plots a private alpha sometime in the first half of this year. Follow-up posts on the game’s Steam page include a series of screenshot drops as well as the start of a blog series that outline SpaceCraft’s tutorial and run down how mining will work.
