While the name of the game is Grand Theft Auto Online, it is not exactly a surprise that the game involves players doing a whole lot of tasks that may, in fact, be considered worse than thefting an auto. However, smoking weed has increasingly gone from “crime” to “just a legal thing” over the past several years, which is one of the big reasons why GTA Online is celebrating 4/20 with plenty of events including a big shipment of weed going through Grove Street with Lamar Davis. Players can either help the Families get the weed where it needs to go or team up with the Ballas and Vagos to stop the shipment dead.
There are also new clothing items for players to celebrate the day and triple the rewards for selling weed on the streets of Los Santos, so players have every reason to kick back, light up an enormous blunt, and then laugh into a catatonic state over videos of baby seals on YouTube. (Or whatever your preferred watch might be when you are high. We don’t judge.) So there’s plenty to enjoy if you wish to celebrate the ganja between now and April 23rd. If you don’t want to celebrate it… well… again, no judgment, but you do realize the game is about theft and crime? Just getting high is the least of crimes even if it were still a crime.
