Piratical survival MMO Crosswind showcases a boss fight in latest pre-alpha gameplay video

At the middle point of March we were introduced to Crosswind, an in-development free-to-play survival MMO set in an “alternative age of piracy” that’s “driven by real-world characters and supernatural powers alike.” Developer Crosswind Crew touts the game’s blend of survival gameplay, boss fights, sea battles, and seamless ship to land features.

It’s one of those boss fights that the studio shared with players in a recent gameplay video. The devs call the footage “work-in-progress-pre-alpha-things-can-and-will-change stuff,” but also showcase some completely uncut gameplay as a character engages in a raid against some enemies and fights the Bosun, a hulking brute that wields a mainmast like a club and sets off explosions in his arena.

Crosswind Crew says development is still moving through an alpha stage, while earlier reported testing access on Steam appears to be closed off for now. Still, there’s a look at where things stand awaiting below.
