At the top of April, Broadsword talked up its presence at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, Japan, primarily referencing a vignette that would premiere during the event. Well, that video did indeed premiere, and with it a full arrival to YouTube viewers as well.
The first half of the video was both a thank-you letter to fans and a moment to talk the MMORPG up to everyone, as narrative director Ashley Ruhl outlined recent updates and improvements like the class spec proliferation, visual upgrades, and story additions that have been applied over the course of its 13-year run.
“We want to give a heartfelt thank-you for those who have shared and continues to share their love for this game,” Ruhl says. “We are still here 13 years later because of your love, passion, and enthusiasm for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
The final half of the video teases some of the next story that’s planned for the game, which will once more see Darth Malgus being really, really furious at the Empire and the Republic. Fans may likely spot a few other returning characters as well; the whole video awaits below.
