If you signed up for Warborne Above Ashes’ large-scale PvP playtest earlier this month, you woke up to a happy surprise: a steam invite for that very test, which officially begins on Thursday.
“We’ve granted playtest access for April 24 to all players who have previously requested access!” say the devs at Qooland Games and developer Pumpkin Studio. “Check your Steam-registered email for instructions — it might be in your spam or promotions folder.”
Previous testers can just hop in to their existing version of the game on Steam come Thursday. And if you’re not in yet? Smack the request access button; as of this morning, our own Sam reports that clicking it is granting instant access, which will allow you to download the game ahead of time so you’re ready to go at server-up.
Do note that server-up is staggered depending on the region; the server set clearly aimed at North Americans, Darktide, opens at 10 a.m. EDT. Definitely check which server set fits you best. Ahhhh, Darktide brings back memories, doesn’t it.
The test is meant to run a month and should give players their “first full-scale experience of [the MMO’s] massive battlefield, deep faction warfare, and larger-scale strategic combat.”
“This Total War test will bring you a wealth of new features to explore, including more language options, the choice of six factions, a complete world map, a full seasonal experience, and adjustments to gameplay content. We will also provide a dedicated section later to share the development journey and specific updates for this test.”
