We promise that the things being added to Once Human on Wednesday, April 23rd, will… OK, maybe they won’t make sense, but they will be honest-to-goodness things that will be available in the survivalbox once the patch drops. And there are even patch notes to prove it.
One of the additions in the patch is a new bicycle mount that will not only let players traverse the game’s maps, but also pull off all sorts of sick tricks, from spins and flips while riding solo to combination stunts when riding a bike together in multiplayer that have to be seen to be believed.
Another addition is what NetEase’s Starry Studio is calling capybara beans. “Everyone’s favorite capybaras are now carrying mysterious jelly beans, each with a surprise inside! Whether tame or wild, capybaras will occasionally drop capybara beans when idle. Try them out and discover their various effects,” the studio exclaims. We feel it fair to point out that the capybara displayed in a related animated gif does not look idle – it in fact appears to be having a movement – but surely using shiny capy leavings will not cause any harm. Coconut dogs are friend-shaped.
One other major update that’s arriving is the official launch of Once Human on mobile devices, which comes with cross-platform play. Starry has even put out an instructional graphic to explain how crossplay will work and how players can get their capybara beans on PC or mobile.
Other features coming in the patch include a team lobby feature that lets players form squads more easily, several new events and rewards that include handouts for logging in on PC and mobile, and a wide assortment of fixes and general gameplay updates.
