While Bilbo may not have admitted anyone to his abode except on party business, Lord of the Rings Online is welcoming one and all to its latest patch and anniversary celebration.

Update 44: Crown of Hamât arrives later today with a new content pack that includes 50 quests and deeds, a revamped Lalia’s market, 10 additional missions, an expansion of the VIP favored reputation system, a reworked Combe Forester event, and a six-player instance which will unlock in a couple weeks. “Learn the story of Mizâdi, Shâra of Hamât Renewed, as she fights for her people and attempts to bring peace to Shagâna,” Standing Stone Games say.

SSG is also introducing “homesteading coins” as a new currency for premium houses and decorations. The studio explains that while the conversion of housing writs to homesteading coins is optional at first, eventually it will become mandatory.

With the update, the Angmar and Mordor legendary servers are getting some slightly altered “endgame” content as the devs tweaked Mirkwood to feature tougher mobs and instances on those realms.

Finally, LOTRO’s 18th anniversary event begins on Thursday with presents and new barter rewards. This year, everything is centered around a “baking” theme.
