As planned, Amazon’s MMO Lost Ark went offline in the wee hours of this morning and was expected to be back up just about the time this post goes live at 9 a.m. EDT but in fact came up a full half an hour early. And it didn’t go offline on a lark; it went offline for the deployment of the April update.
The patch is a bit of a mixed bag. “Get ready for sweeping balance adjustments, Advanced Honing and Transcendence reworks, and not one but two epic events: Storm the Abyss and Kazeros: Road to Act 3 Event. Dive into elegant new Ark Pass skins and explore improved islands with fewer restrictions,” Amazon says.
In addition to the honing boost event, Amazon has patched in a long list of quality-of-life additions, like the ability to preview guaranteed rewards for gate clears, but the meat of the update is truly the huge class balancing update. We spy buffs to the ark passive and skill updates for Berserkers, Gunlancers, Paladins, Slayers, Wardancers, Scrappers, Soulfists, Glaiviers, Strikers, Breakers, Deadeyes, Artillerist, Sharpshooters, Machinists, Gunslingers, Summoners, Bards, Sorceresses, Deathblades, Shadowhunters, Artists, Aeromancers, and Wildsouls. Believe it or not, that isn’t just a list of every spec in the game; the Destroyer, Arcanist, Reaper, Souleater, Reaper weren’t actually touched this round.
