Any class-based game boasting of 64 different classes is making quite a flex, but it can also make playing the game and choosing your class somewhat difficult. Fortunately, Ashes of Creation has a list of 64 classes, but it also has a list of eight in a more immediate sense. That’s because the whole class system is designed as a combination game, as explained in a new posting on Icy Veins running down the broad strokes of the class system for the game and would-be players who might not realize just how much the game has expanded during development.
At character creation, you choose from one of eight classes: Tank, Fighter, Bard, Mage, Cleric, Ranger, Rogue, or Summoner. This particular class cannot be changed; if you start as a Summoner but want to play a Bard, you have to make a new character. But at level 25, you choose a secondary archetype, which can be changed. And yes, the order does lead to differences, so the Bard who chooses a Summoner as her secondary will have a different class from the Summoner who chooses a secondary Bard. Check out the full rundown to see all 64 combinations that will be available in the full game.
