Lord of the Rings Online activates 18th anniversary celebrations while working on a tool for missing loot

Lord of the Rings Online is officially 18 years old, and it’s got the anniversary celebration to prove it. The annual festivities — and free gifts — are now live in the fantasy MMO, with plenty to do and a whole new batch of baking-themed rewards to earn. As usual, check out FibroJedi’s guide for an excellent rundown of the event.

Meanwhile, Standing Stone Games revealed on the forums that it’s working on a tool to help a lot of players recover items lost in the transfers: “The engineering team is currently working on a tool to recover those items, which will be shared with customer service when it’s finished. This is why those tickets are waiting with CS — they’re being kept together so the team can address them when they get the new tool. The tool has to go through an expedited development process and also needs to pass testing before it can be deployed.”

Players should also expect to hear some news on the additional server and transfer schedule. “We’ll be launching Sting soon, then transferring from dark worlds, then probably start doing weekly rotations for a limited time between the worlds,” said CM Cordovan.

Also, you Peregrin players looking for more housing space? Lyndelby opened up some new neighborhoods. Land rush, ho!
