Ubisoft’s multiplayer looter shooter The Division 2 is nearing the start of its Year 7 series of seasonal content updates, which means that the studio is ready to show off what’s in store for players – and mostly sell them on the Battle for Brooklyn DLC after its delay following a layoff wave at the top of 2025 that affected devs working on the game.
The first portion of the showcase video talks up general plans for the seasons of Year 7, which promise to have a faster update pace along with greater emphasis on open world gameplay for endgame, an improved onboarding experience for new arrivals, and greater depth of customization for gear. The year’s updates will also continue to launch various events and improve quality-of-life; a callout of even more stash space was one of the first things confirmed in this regard.
The vast majority of the showcase was all about Battle for Brooklyn, which now has a calendar release date of Tuesday, May 27th. This new DLC will take players to Brooklyn Heights in the autumn in order to help a community that’s attempting to rebuild and establish a safe haven, featuring four control points, 10 bounty locations, 12 open world activities, eight hunter riddles, and a new set of bounty collectibles.
The DLC looks to mostly pit players against the Cleaners, who now have a wider assortment of purple flame weapons at their disposal. This new weapon type not only sets characters on fire but also applies a corrosion debuff that drops maximum ammo capacity the longer they’re fought. All of the details await in the video briefing below.
