You might think that it’s generally not a good thing to describe your tactical card-driven on the official site as having monetization problems, overly complex systems, and a lack of clear objectives. But Ankama’s post about Waven does exactly that, and the studio isn’t saying these things as a compliment. Rather, the developers know that this game is not working as well as Dofus and Wakfu before, and thus they start their post about what will be changing in the game’s 1.0 version by outlining what doesn’t work well.

So what’s changing? A lot. Perhaps most notably, player progress will be reset; there’s just too much being changed in the game, with players scheduled to receive some recognition for their accomplishments after the reset. No purchased items will be removed without refunds, however. Players can also look forward to more straightforward systems, clear objectives within the game, more comprehensible progression, and an overhaul to monetization to make the game self-sufficient. Whether you’re a fan of the game as it currently stands or someone who tried but bounced off, it’s worth checking out the full rundown of the extensive changes and reworkings coming over the course of the year.
