There are a lot of moving parts in Lord of the Rings Online’s neck of the woods, so let’s do a brief catch-up of what’s happening. For starters, this Wednesday should see the opening of the new Sting 64-bit server as well as the opening of the Siege of Mirkwood expansion for the Angmar and Mordor progression worlds.

In a stream last week, SSG said that it’s hoping to follow Sting’s release with the long-awaited “dark world” transfers starting next week, which will be handled in a staggered fashion. Then the studio will get free transfers going between the 64-bit realms on a rotating basis.

Finally, coming on May 7th will be Update 44.1 with the anniversary event missions that were disabled when the prior patch arrived. SSG also plans to advance the Treebeard progression server to Mordor and level 115 the same day.
