Last year we first started keeping tabs on Sand, a PvPvE extraction title set in a pre-WWI alt-universe that focuses on players piloting enormous walking mech bases, finding loot, and trying to survive the attacks of others. The game offered a PvP demo that got lots of attention but also unveiled lots of problems, yet developers Hologryph and TowerHaus were eyeing an April 3rd early access.
Well, obviously, that didn’t happen: The studios confirmed in late March that early access was being pushed back in the interest of refining and optimizing the game, and has since followed up with an Q&A post last week that once more confirmed an early access date still hasn’t nailed down. A price for early access has also not been confirmed, but playtests prior to launch will be coming, dates TBD.
Other answers provided in the post confirm a PC focus for now, trampler customization, trampler designs that are all about ramming, and a progression loop focused on faction rep. The post also assures players that it’s doing its best to combat griefing, ensuring that solo play is viable, and confirmed that a custom trampler editor tool’s development is being paused for now. Check out the Q&A for more.
