There is no shortage of ways to generate orphans in World of Warcraft, and players need that because where else are you going to get orphans for the game’s annual Children’s Week? You can’t just show a kid a nice time or something, can you. Oh… wait, hold on, we are being informed you can do exactly that. However, the Children’s Week celebration that has just started and runs through May 5th does indeed involve orphans, with four new orphans to adopt along with a new currency of Well-Loved Figurines to buy cosmetic gear.

Players can also add new battle pets to their collections as a reward for showing kids around, earn new and familiar meta-achievements, and generally have a grand time with an orphan before teleporting away via hearthstone while the orphan is left standing there. That should not be an achievement, but it is. The event has also arrived in WoW Classic, so whatever flavor of the game you prefer, you can engage in Children’s Week celebrations before returning to the game’s usual Creating The Orphans For Children’s Week Year.
