I recently returned to Elder Scrolls Online after a long break, and I went through that honeymoon period where you’re reminded of all of the things you genuinely liked about a title and can appreciate once more. Probably the greatest thing that stuck out to me were the generally excellent side quest stories, all of which were enhanced by full voice acting.
Not every MMO includes this feature, after all. Some, like ESO and SWTOR, go whole-hog with voice acting for everyone. Some only feature it in the big questlines or with small snippets. And some MMOs don’t have it whatsoever (hope you like reading text boxes!).
In your opinion, how much does voice acting impact your experience in an MMORPG? How important is it to telling stories and improving immersion?
