Earlier this month, MOP’s MJ streamed Dinkum, a cutesy multiplayer life sim we’ve had our eye on for a few years now. If you missed it then, you can snap it up now, as the game has officially left early access for its 1.0 release. Publisher Krafton and Aussie solo dev James Bendon pushed it out on Steam, counting 1M copies sold to date.
“Set on a rugged island inspired by the Australian outback, Dinkum invites players to gather, hunt, mine, and fish while building a thriving town from the ground up,” the companies write. “With deep customization, rich NPC interactions, and up to six-player co-op, Dinkum offers a cozy-yet-adventurous experience for fans of the life sim genre.”
The 1.0 release includes a new creative mode, homes you can rent to NPCs, new crafting content, and upgrades for multiplayer mode. And yes, there is a free trial for folks who just want to check it out before ponying up $20.
The news comes as Krafton has delivered record-high quarterly sales for Q1 2025; while the company credits PUBG and inZOI, it also mentions Dinkum and the upcoming Dinkum Together: “The PC life simulation game Dinkum officially launched globally on April 23 with localization expanded to 14 languages. The company plans to strengthen the Dinkum IP franchise by expanding it to new platforms and launching a spin-off game called Dinkum Together.”
